When I try to start the car.

All of the electronics light up and everything is jim dandy however the car makes no attempt to turn itself over.

Then, every once in a while it will start.

Any ideas?

 

sounds like your starter is on it's way out.

you should have some one get a volt meter and place the test probes on the battery posts. when you turn the key if the volts drop to like 5v, then it's probably your battery. when it starts you should have the alt tested, most major parts stores will do it for free.

there are many more possibilities but without more info that's the best advise i can give.
