Plugging Exhaust Circulation

I noticed a hardlined pipe coming out of the header, is it okay to plug that, would there be any benefits? Also, i would like to replace my motor mounts. To remove them, is it just the nut and bolts down the center of the mount?

Is It? hmm, seems to me that its sucking in clean air from the intake, so i wasn't sure if it would be a benefit or not.

the metal pipe is either the egr pipe or the pair valve pipe... i have both of mine plugged... if you remove the egr valve you will want to plug where it connects to the intake manifold as well... or you will be sucking in air...

the way the valve works is it opens up on vacuum and allows exhaust gases to be routed into your intake manifold... it is an emissions device... so if you have emissions testing in your area you will fail if you remove it...

the other valve is called the pair valve.. it also works on a vacuum and allows clean air to be sucked into the exhaust system... again an emissions device...

if you dont have emissions then i would plug them both... the best way to do this (the fittings are a pain in the *** to find) is to cut the pipe off about an inch from the end and then remove it from the motor... try not to damage the piece that goes into the exhaust manifold... once you have it out... take the threaded piece and remove the pipe from the center... then get a slug of metal... you can get them out of metal electric boxes at the hardware store... i stole the ones i used...and put that into the hole... then reinstall just the threaded fitting back into the hole it came from...mae sure it is tight as hell...(they will fall out i know i have lost 3 of them)do the same thing on the intake manifold... or buy the egr block off plate from egay... it works on the manifold rather well...

i removed the valve and i have had no problems... there is no power gain that i have noticed from doing it... but that is not saying that there is no gain to be had here...

The AIV mod usually wont give much as far as performance. That is, unless your AIV valve isnt functioning properly to begin with. Im running no cat, so im takin that biotch off.

Yeah I don't fell a difference but the tube cracked on my Greddy Header so I just had it removed and welded close. I figure the more fresh vs. exhaust air in the combustion chamber couldn't hurt.
