Prob: Brake lights stay on

Has anyone ever had this problem before? I have a 92' Coupe; a few days ago it started haveing this problem where the brake lights stay on all the time whether or not its being driven or sitting there, been having to take the battery cable off lately to keep the battery from dying. Could this be a computer prob? a mechanical prob? I dunno, anyone got any ideas for a fix?

under your brake pedal is a button that is pushed the enable the light when depressed it turns on the light correct. Possible as it is stuck check that out and see if its the problem for you.
