I've never heard of ETS(the manufacturer of the 4-2-1). It would be nice if you can test its fitment (after all it isn't that expensive). If it is a genuine 4-2-1 with equal length runners it should show some positive results. Although the pic they show doesn't depict or describe the KA24de header.
If you chose not to wait for an OBX and need something now or chose to save your money, a dc sports or hot shot also works on s14's. Although the are labelled to only work for s13's they do fit for s14's, and if you don't have smog emissions in your state you should be fine . There is a sticky on it in the naturally aspirated section of this forum.

one of my friends was telling me the other day that just by taking out your airconditioning you can get a good horsepower gain. because it takes away power from your engine even when its not on. have any of you done this?, did you notice much of a difference? also changing your radiater fan and water pump to electric does that help out a lot too?

Edit: noobish question from noobish times. dont pay attention to it. haha

"Now it's time to pull off some over weight inertia. Aluminum pulley's are effecient at $60 from OBX, or Megan racing (yes thats right folk's I said Megan racing, especially after all the shiat I talk about them). I happen to purchase mine for $40 so you might be able to find one for a good deal. Does an aluminum pulley affect dampening? The answer is NO. KAE and DE do not come with a dampener ( they are low RPM rev engines and useless for having such a large non harmonic halfweighted crank), although there is a extra piece of steel molded to the pulley, (whatever that does, I don't know but pulling off my pulley did I see any rubber...NO. So pulleys are fine."

actually, there is thin rubber section on the kaE crank pulley. if someone can tell me how to post a pic i'll do so. but i do agree that the ud pulley shouldn't cause any damage.

This is true KAe's and Z24i's came with a harmonic dampener. Dampeners are used for what is occasional belt slap, from fan belts, it just absorbs unneccesary vibrations from the belt assembly. It doesn't do damage to low rev engines and wasn't found on the KA24de. Removing the dampener doesn't seem to damage the KA engines, I don't see it to be a problem.
I wrote the majority of this thread on KA24DE's hence the first thread written....

new to this site and i was reading about the SCV, didnt really understand how you removed the butterflies and did you use something to cover the hole? and does it really make 6CHP?

Yes it makes 6HP, and all you need to do is disassemble the whole scv joints, and butterfly's and JB weld them closed. Or you can use a 95-98 manifold and it would do the same thing.
It drops a bit of torque below 2000RPM, but it will accelerate much facster in higher RPM's..

More proof that the NA KA is still making numbers. PDM now has made there NA KA make 177HP@ the wheels with a better ecu tune.

haha, i guess that will be my project this summer then, i guess. im planning on going megasquirtnshock, with gsx throttle bodies, the timing system off of a escort, some high comp pistons, new rods, new cams (nothing major, i dont think, what would you suggest) along with new springs, valves and retainers. as well as a new header, test pipe, and exhaust.

the whole itb thing is based pretty much primarly off of what scooter's setup is like. i think there are good numbers to be made with a better breathing engine, with high comp, and some headwork. this is kind of a long term goal, hopefully to be finished this summer, along with susp. and also a home done paint job, and eventually an aero, prolly a cheapo one that doesnt fit. (ebizzle for the wizzle?)
