Removed mechanical

I took out my mechanical fan the other day. I wired my A/C fan to come on with a switch to test thing out. Ran the vehicle(unisured at the moment) in my driveway for about 15 minutes. With the fan on it ran almost at the exact same temp as before but a 1/32 of an inch higher on the gauge.

I never drove it on the roads yet. Is it possible to get away with just using hte A/C fan? assuming i'm not adding extra load / heat by turning on the A/C?

THanks TJ

I've been running one fan forever and the engine temp is fine its just when you are sitting in gridlock on a 95+ degree day the a/c doesn't run that cold.

Stock a/c fan and temp gauge are both garbage, IMO. Atleast get a aftermarket temp gauge and keep an eye on things.

Possibly a valid point, I don't think my temp gauge moves more than 1mm ever after its warmed up, it sits usually 2 notches up from the bottom. I've never seen it move to the half way point, let alone get hot. I was thinking of replacing the engine coolant temp sensor just for the hell of it, seeing if it had any effect whatsoever. I wish it was more accurate.

What are the ka's supposed to run @ temp wise?

And whats a decent aftermarket temp guage?

I was runing my AC fan for while but on hot sunny Florida if you get stuck on traffic you gonna end up having problems. AC fan it's fine as far as u have enough ram air to the engine and just stop on traffic lights.
