who said anything about smaller displacement? do you even read what this thread is about.

and if you offer an alternative "naps z front sump block" why dont you explain to the original poster what that is.

NAPS-Z is basically the poster child of KA. NAPS-Z stands for Nissan-Anti-Pollution-System it's just older smog technology, but NAPS-Z cranks are the same as the KA crank.... Bearings in the NAPS-Z are weaker than KA's bearings though, but can be changed out with KA bearings. NAPS-Z was made with a front sump system for 81-83 200sx's in 2.0litre in 81, and then 2.2litre in 82-83...... All other NAPS-z in the U.S were manufactured rear sump for the 720/D21 line of trucks......
All bolt patterns to NAPS-Z are the same to that of the KA, accept for the oil pan which has half as many bolts in the pattern.
I was just stating this because you can get NAPS-Z engines and blocks for dirt cheap at wrecking yards........
I work on NAPS-Z and KA engines own a few of the trucks and 240 myself and have interchanged compenets before, I thought it would be usefull information for those looking to go cheap.......

 

okay. I don't think i want to go to crazy. This motor MIGHT be goin into my friends eightsix. But we're not sure yet. Its just a last resort for him. If anything, a lightly built Single Cam will put out more power than some of the 4AGE's.
