Starting problem.
WEll i was driving my 240 back home from orlando, In the middle of driving i herd a loud bam noise, then my 240 refused to start... It sounds like a helicopter when I turn the key.
Any ideas?
The girl who helped me tow it said it might be a pully or a belt.

it's possibly misfiring, which means you should inspect anything ignition and timing related. that would involve some wishful thinking though because of the loud bam you mentioned. have you noticed if the engine take longer and longer to start every time or does it start like normal? also what year and engine does it have?

if that's the case and performance hasn't changed i'd be more inclined to believe that you have an exhaust leak. if there has been a change in performance i would suspect you have a blown head gasket or something of the sort.

OK!
Checked the timing chain and no, thats still good, I can turn the car on and let it idle if i wanted too, I just refuse to.
The noise more accuractely sounds like your Knocking on metal, Like a hollowish knock.
It increases speed when i rev, and when i started the car, it went away for maybe 3 seconds then became steady.
Worst fear, I have an knock in the engine.. which is what it sounds like, least worst.. Someone hasn't changed the oil and i'm getting dry.
