Anyone have this problem? I believe it is oil. But im not 100% sure. Anyone know why this is happening? Leaky valve cover gasket? How much is a new gasket? Im going to take off my valve cover today to remove the timing chain guide and i would like to fix this problem, help is GREATLY appreciated.

 

um..i found something called oil fouling. it's a wet, oily deposit on the electrodes. it could be worn or broken piston rings and defective or missing valve stem seals

 

hrm.....so in other words....its really bad.

 

They recommend you use a hotter plug...but it doesnt solve the problem...I tried searching for an answer, I couldnt find it..Maybe someone can help?

 

It can either be The Valve cover seal, that goes arround the sparkplug. Sometimes its starts to get messt up and start leaking oil, but not in gallons, only a very small steam of it, This makes only the finest oil go trough, so it looks like something else. It used to hapend to a 95' isuzu Rodeo i had. Just try to use one of those sealants treatments they sell, or if ur taking the gasket out, by another one its like 9 to 13 bucks. It can also be that the spark plug is not tight enough, but sparkplugs are not meant to be super tightened. so be carufull, make shure they have that small washer on them, or make a seal yourself with some gasket material( not recomended) If it doesn't work, then take it to a mecaninc!.

 

I think they cost around $100 if you want a mechanic to fix the problem
