valve seals

i would like to knwo about changing valve seals

i dont think i can do it myself soo i am tryin to find a shop to do it for me

i checked one at first they said 300-400
then i checked another guy who has a rb25det engine in his s14 and does performance work

he told me that it may cost about 700
because chaingin the valve seals mite involve takin the head or soemthing out and then u mite have to resurface it cause it can warp the head when i take it out or soemthing similar

i am not sure if he is tryin to B.S me or what but he seems very knowlegable since he a 240 in his garage wit a s15 engine in the process of swappin really nice. and a nissan pulsar on the lift waitin on a new sr20 . very sick

dont know who to trust
some thoughts plz.

unless you have an air powered valve spring compressor then yes the head will have to come of... and any time taking a head off it can warp... so he is not b.sing you ... the chances are that you wont ever warp a head by taking it off if you know what you are doing... even with redurfacing the head it should not cost you 700 bucks... if you are going to have the head out then you might as well as put in new valves and valve seats... it costs more but still... you have the head off so might as well...

i got my head shaved and polished and also checked for bent valves or cracked head and i only paid $150

(nothing was bad though, i did get it shaved for more compression )
