what steps to turn over a rebuilt engine
I built a ka24de with all new parts. i plug up everything and went to turn the engine over and it turned on but it dropped the rpms to 500 and started to shake. i was thinking if there is steps to start a new engine like maybe having it at top dead centeer or reset the ecu. i can really use someones help if they been through this.:spin:

the crank pulley shoudl have been set to 0 degrees while making sure the the #1 piston is at TDC. on tope of that the lower chain should have been mathedup with all of the proper links as well as the upper chain with the correct maks on th cam gears. the lobes of the cams hsould have been facing outward and the crank should have been turned prior to starting the car to ensure that there is no valvetrain problems (ie valves bending)...sounds like your timing is off whichis causing your low idle/shacing/ and probably ****ty throttle response..

yea i think i did the timing right on it cause it was not that hard with matching the marks. i actually did it three times to because i built the engine and took it apart to add more parts. should i put the piston at tdc each time i try to turn it and do you have any idea have to use the self-diagnostic test cause i was wonder if that took help.

i found out what happen. i took out the spark plugs and inside the cylinders it s full with oil. so i ask the machine shop guys who rebuilt the head and they said that the piston rings may not be seated so its not pulling dowh the oil. so i m throwing in the towel. if you need parts i have over 150 new parts and the whole car too.
