Wierd Sound.

A couple of nights ago i started my 240 and herd a weird sound in it...

Kinda like the fan hitting the plastic for the air filter..

After getting home and opening the hood, i looked and came to the conclusion that the fan wasn't hitting the plastic and that the noise was coming from the engine..

Being that this is my 2nd engine i checked the oil and changed the oil because usually this sound is associated with a dry engine and lack of lube...

but it still makes this rattling noise... any idea what it might be?

The car still runs just fine.

what engine is it, is the sound audible only at start up or at all times, does is change as the revs increases and decreases, does the change in temp affect the sound? when you checked the oil did it look abnormally dark or whitish? lastly what type and weight oil are you using and where do you live?

in other words more details are needed.
