You may have overreacted but hey, it's just a natural thing. You should have hid your feelings, and you did--that's good, but you can't do anything about it now. The poor people are probably used to this kind of reaction, so maybe they left because they understood you and why you reacted that way, I don't think this is anything new for them. Don't bang your head on the wall, just learn from this....

And yes, it IS possible for hands to grow--it's a deformity at birth, can't think of the name right now.
