No, S13's are '89-'94. S14's are '95-'98. And it's only HICAS equiped S13's, which was only an option on '91-'93 hatchbacks.

lsd

As afore mentioned, if your car has Super HICAS (S13) it has a lsd...otherwise the LE, SE, and base models do not have a lsd. But that's good b/c you don't want HICAS 4 wheel independent steering = ghey. Most people don't prefer the car to try to drive itself around curvs and when drifting. So buy a R200 lsd and be happy.

Brand new I think it's about $800+. I dunno if that includes output shafts though.

How about we all take a chill pill.

There is another thing to look for is the diff cover. Non lsd open diffs will have a flat face while VLSDs have fins.

If you would like you can come look at mine and I will smoke my tires to show you they both lock up. It will look something like this.

Stop fighting or we will have to start closing threads and I don't want to have to police this site. It is so much more fun to just read and contribute.

So....I got a 97 240, has all the SE stuff would, doesn't say SE anywhere.... when i turn the key all the way the little abs lights up...so that means I have abs and therefore I have the vlsd right.....

Does the SE package say SE anywhere on there? cuz i got the leather seats, sunroof, 16" wheels, cdplayer, and sideskirts/fog lamps etc....but I never could find the orange sticker (probably fell off) but yeah.....

Take a look at the cover on the rear of the punkin. See if there are horizontal fins on it. Those are cooling fins. They will tell you if you have vlsd. Or you can let me drive your car. If both wheels smoke as I pull away you will be happy.

What am I looking for? This sounds like an easier way to check if the 240sx I will be purchasing have LSD or not.

Thanks,
Jeff

The area that is not shaded is your differencial cover. The lines you see work the same as the heat syncs on your cpu.

I don't have a picture of a open diff but this is what you are looking for.

We are a family and you are more than welcome. We already got a couple Cali guys.

It all started when I met a few on some forums. They were coming out here for vacation and didn't want to be bored. So I offered to pick them up and take them to our meets.

Now they are flying here this summer and we are all driving down to GA.
