from my conversation with the NHTSA Rep, he directed me to some reading material avail on their website...I am in the process of sorting through 7 PDF files and seeing what useful info is in there. I also found out that when a company crash tests a vehicle they can make a request to keep portions of the findings confidential and they become the property of the company doing the tests.

here is the site where I found the NHTSA info: linky

I will see what I can find on the EPA also and post that here as well

Have you yourself done in any way made a step toward importing a Skyline and making them legal. If you have I would like to know who you talked to, and exactly what they told you. My bet, you talked to the wrong people and were not very thourogh in the conversation. Not just any dumbass can import cars . Motorex made it that way.
Hey! I am not the one spouting crap about importing cars!! You are righ. NOT just any dumbass can do it. There is a LOT to it. There is currently only ONE importer who can do it legally. You can research all you want but it is fact. There ARE loopholes but they are pretty specific and if you don't have access to corporate sponsorship you are probablt out of luck.

I HAVE shipped THOUSANDS of dollars of car parts to the US. No cars yet, but I intend to. Haven't needed to. I live here. I don't want my car THERE.

I live about 20mins. from MOTOREX, by the way do you REALLY live in Japan? I also live about 10 mins. away from a place called RB Motoring. Didn't mean do be a 8====D about it but you were getting a little bit rude there. srslider sounds like he's been doin his homework. Thank you, first off DominoOnr. Are you affiliated with RB Motoring? If so done some work with you. This has been going on for about three four weeks. People don't understand or realize what it takes. Thanks again.

OMFG so many morons in this thread... NO MOTOREX IS NOT THE ONLY LEGALIZING COMPANY IN THE UNITED STATES.

I work for a vinyl company and we have ties with a company in Japan, one of the customers there requested that I call around asking for him to find a way so he can legalize his car here because he wanted to ship a R33 down here. Yes there are a good amount of companies out there from my research and phone calls. Yes RBmotoring can legalize them but it's time consuming and very expensive.

So either you guys get off your keyboard and go calling yourself, or stop being some stupid "typical ignorant American" and STFU.

actually i would never ever ever get in a fight with glad hatter because this guy is just about on every single nissan forum ive ever visited as a regular...i beleive your also the gladhatter on AF right?

this has been covered so many times. i too was a HUGE skyline fan looking to import one that my aunt wanted like a year ago.then she said no and bought a sc430 but thats BESIDE the point that motorex IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN DO LEGALIZATION!!!!! RBmotoring is a great company i live right down the street from them but they CAN NOT LEGALIZE SKYLINES!!!!! they go THROUGH motorex. and motorex may not be around for much longer look at these pages....

http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/for...threadid=38686

read ALL those posts from first to last and you will get a clue that motorex wont be around for long. tyndago is sean morris formerly of motorex and who has been working at RBmotoring read what he says and everyone else who has money and skylines tied up at motorex
