Talking 240 newb with lots of questions

Hi guys!

I know you guys get this alot, but for some reason I can't search the answers to these questions on the forum... maybe I just didn't look hard enough or used the right terms... Please help answer or point me to threads that have the answers. TIA

Some background:

I plan on getting the 240sx to make it my daily driver, drifting, and track car. Like almost every 240 owner I've met, I will be looking to swap in the SR20DET also but not in the near future. Recently I became a track junkie and absolutely love running the tracks, however, good thing I'm poor and don't have that much $ or else I'd just spend everything I have going to tracks all the time Now with that being said...

1. What would be the best 240 year for a newb like me? The only thing I know is that I should get at least a '91 due to the better engine and other stuff I forget.

2. Besides looks, are there any difference between fastbacks and coupes?

3. What are some major 240sx problems?

4. Which year is the easiest to swap in the SR20DET motor?

That's it for now. I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future. Also if anyone is bored or feel like helping me answer these, my AIM is: LiuDAiLO. Thanks guys!

-James

First off, Welcome to the forums

1)There isnt a best 240sx...but a 91-93 240sx would be great.
2)SE coupes had the option for the HUD and SE hatchbacks had the option for HICAS(More then likely they come with a VLSD)
3)Search around and Im sure you can find this...check the FAQ section
4)89-90 need modded PS lines...so 91+. But when you get to the S15...the wiring gets a little tough. 91-94 probably the best

Keep on searching...there is a lot of info out there. Hope ya like it here
