Hello from Bahrain!
Hello from Bahrain!
Good evening, good morning or good afternoon whatever the case may be, and thanks for allowing me to join this group!
I'm D2 and I am from Japan, but I currently reside and work in Bahrain. It's a tiny island nation in the Middle East. My car is a 1989 Nissan 180SX RS13. Her name is Black Sunshine, and you can see her at my main web site http://www.180sxworld.com. Nothing stock about her, but she's old, and next year I'm going to do a full tear down of the chassis and rebuild her all the way with some of the money I make out here. Yeah, sometimes you have to go to where the money is at just to make your life a little better and to make your dreams come true! Hahaha! She will be losing the CA19DET and I'll be going with the SR20DET. Yes, it was a CA18DET a few years ago, but I did some internal work that you can read about on my web site.
In the meantime, I'm here and I drive a plain 2005 Toyota, but I'm hoping that changes soon, since I got networked in and made friends with some pretty cool local guys. One drives a Euro-spec 200SX with an SR transplant, and the other guy drives a USDM FD3S. My friends are trying to help me get a UK version 200SX right-hander off one of the guys in Muharraq. If that falls through, I'll try to get a Nissan Laurel Altima (non-Japan version of the Cefiro) and I'll drop an RB20 in it.
I love cars, tuning and racing. I'll be crewing for the Endless R34 on the 28th of this month here in Bahrain at Bahrain International Circuit. If you follow F1, that's the new track in Bahrain. It also has a FIA-approved drag area. They have drifting in the big parking lot. Speaking of the scene here, it's very small. It's like it was in the USA 10 years ago. I'll be taking pictures of the race, the car and interviewing the owner of the car and posting it on my site.
I work in aviation and in IT, and besides driving, I love flying! I'm also into surf/skate/snowboarding, BMX bikes and super-bikes.
Please visit my sites. I'm an amateur web guy, so forgive me if my sites suck! Hahaha! I'm trying! The stuff I peddle on my sites are legit and they belong to friends of mine and other business associates. My sites are just portals to their shops and more stuff. I say this because I'm not out fishing, but if you need stuff for your car or whatever else, I figure I may as well promote it.
Again, thanks for letting me join you guys, and if you've got questions about CA/RB20/RB25/RB26, I can help. Believe it or not, I just started busting into SRs, but I know suspension tuning, body fabrication/strengthening, exhaust and a lot of other stuff. Just PM me or hit me up at d2180sx@lycos.com or postmaster@180sxworld.com.

Thanx! Beaches? Lots of them! For the Middle East, Bahrain is pretty loose and liberal. Dubai is even more so. Don't let the veil fool anybody. Not saying everybody is up for the get down, but they are just like anybody else in the world. They come in all shapes and sizes and colors. Arab women are really exotic looking, smell good and can make you retarded with just a look. I'm not kidding!
As far as everything else, gas is way way cheap 26.5 cents to the liter (it's all premium unleaded). Engines/missions/harnesses/ECUs are all over the place, but the cars are hard to come by (only 10 of us with S13 and one guy who's driving a 97 S14 with a 2JZ). One has to go to Dubai to score cars from Japan, USA and Europe. Skylines, R32 and R33, exist, but the laws say the car has to be left-hand drive, so the Arabs get them converted from right to left (a buddy of mine is driving a VSPEC R33).
In summary, foreigners here within the first six months end up either finding the bottle, hitting the gym, or hooking up with a network of friends and find a sense of normality to keep from going crazy. Sometimes all three.

Yeah, but they don't do guns in Bahrain, just swords and 2x4s and cricket bats. Hurts probably just the same. Crime here really is low, but the accidents on the road are higher than any place I know. The law of equilibrium where chaos will always strive to find balance. It's the ride to balance that will f*$k you up.
