Its the new guy

yup i picked up a 240sx yesterday 89 need work pretty bad theres smoke that somes from the exhaust, the exhaust is prety much shot with leaks all over and the engine has 140,000 miles on it so while i have money i figured i would do a sr20det swap my friend told me about but when i went to look for some there were s13,14,15 i was wondering if they would all swap or just the s13

Welcome, they will all fit some are just a bit more work, s13 will be the easiest, search around the forums a bit. Oh and there are other swaps besides the SR, its so damn played out...

im guessing the SR swaps are the cheapest then? although i will have the money to do i wont have alot

I wouldn't say played out it just fits I would suggest the RB26 sawp if you are planning to stay with the japanese engines. You can harness alot of power from stock pistons WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. It is also an easy swap (Well for a RHD Silvia it is) I guess there is a problem with the TT setup in the 240's .

i was thinking a rb26 swap too, but they are just so darn heavy..... and for you old 240, i would suggest a s13 blacktop if you are looking for a good motor and dont have much cash.... if you wanted you could put in a s15 sr and get th 6 speed trans.... thats my plan anyway

The plan right now is a s13 red top with a bigger turbo and wing it from there on
