new to nissans

i have a 94 del sol and have owned a 95 hatch, i liked hondas but everybody has them and the swaps are waaaay to expensive, im lookin into getting a 95-97 240sx, and getting a blacktop sr20det with turbo, which looks amazingly cheap compared to the wimpier motors that are sold for around 2200 in the honda world. but could u tell me about ur 240s and wat u like and dont like and if thats a good motor for my future 240

thanks

welcome to the boards. as far as engine choice, that's gonna be a touchy subject. being that ur new to Nissans and whatnot, u probably are unware that a simple comparison of motors can easily erupt in to a flamewar that would make WWII look like a food fight. not so much here though, as our members are pretty good about being civil. all i can say is do some research and see which motor option suits u the best. i'll even list them for u so u know what to search for:
  • SR20DET
  • CA18DET
  • RB20DET
  • RB25DET
  • RB26DETT
  • KA24ET (stock SOHC motor w/turbo kit added)
  • KA24DET (stock DOHC motor w/turbo kit added)

that should keep u busy for a while. as for what i like about my 240:
  • it's lightweight
  • FR drivetrain
  • stock handling is pretty damn good
  • very reliable
  • hatchbacks rule!
  • it's an affordable sports car

again, welcome.
