New to Rice

Just kidding about the rice, but I am new to (owning) imports. I grew up with old muscle cars, owned a Neon R/T as my first quick car and caught the racing bug in that.

The R/T started as a high 15 second car and was treated to an intake (manifold, not just a tube and filter!), longtube header, 60mm TB, UDP, ECU and probably a few other minor things to drop it deep into the 14's. Definitely a fun sleeper since I removed the R/T stripes, and, well, most Neons are slow!

Sold that car this winter because I was at the point where I was either going to go crazy on it with a turbo kit, Quaife, axles, cage, etc etc or get out of it and find something new.

Right now, I'm driving the family's '66 Chevelle up here in Rochester, NY. Fun car, torquey, loud and heavy. It would probably run a low 14 or maybe a high 13 with a godly launch and perfect conditions. Slow, for what people expect out of a muscle car!

Right now, I'm looking for an SR-swapped 240sx since it is basically the only car that fits my requirements:

Under 10k
Faster than the Neon was
RWD/AWD
Relatively reliable

Well, I'm about out of steam for an introduction. Feel free to quiz me out on the previous or current car or direct me to some nice SR swaps that I may want to look into (though I keep an eye on the FS forums).

any SR swaped 240 is going to be faster than a damn neon... unless it's tuned like ****... no really though, just go to For Sale section and check them out... you'll find plenty of reliable SR swaped 240's for under 10k... check ebay.com, carbuyer.com, autotrader.com, ect...

You'd be surprised...

But yeah, unless it was a crappy swap, they should at least run low 14's...13's shouldn't really be a problem.

I've been keeping an eye out for cars...haven't found anything yet. The s2000 is also tempting...

welcome, welcome, holla, holla. in addition to the sites lrb_2000 suggested, take a peek at other 240SX/Nissan forums in the "For Sale" sections:

www.********.com
www.240sxforums.com
www.nissanforums.com
www.freshalloy.com

and if u can find an S2K for $10K or less, u'd be my new hero!

Nah, the under 10k thing wouldn't apply for an S2k. Looks like 13-15 would be a decent "during winter" price on a mid-high mileage 00 or 01.
