Dead Battery Need new...
Well when I went out to my car this morning it was dead...and only one light came up....I got it jump started but i need to get a new battery cuz the one i got is the original nissan one and the car is 11 years old so its time for a new one......Im wandering if you guys have any suggestions on a brand or type of reliable battery that isnt expensive.....how much do gell cell batteries run? (I know those are expensive, im just curious)
Run a set of leads across your battery while the car is running. It should crank out 14 volts DC. If it is not take a look into getting another alternator.
At least you know the battery is garbage.
There is no need to ruin another battery if it will not get the proper charge.

Optima Red Top usually costs around $140. Check www.summitracing.com, and then see if a local speed shop will match the price.
No need for a yellow top in your application. Yellow top is a deep cycle marine type battery. Intended to survive multiple deep discharges as if you were running a trolling motor off of it, running a lot of electronics for a long time with the car off, or running without an alternator.
