I know that hyjinx already answered your question but i just have to include something... i think many will agree that sometimes EBAY can be retarted, in this case they say "92-94 intake" it does apply to the 91, they just act like nissan didn't make a 240sx in 91' or something. But don't always go by exactly what EBAY says, sometimes common sence can be your best friend.

hmm, as far as i understand you could define a cold air intake as anything in front of the radiator. all of the pictures of the intakes for the 240 ive seen have been short ram. am i just missing the pics of the cold air? or is this what you guys are referring to?

cold air intake is when the filter is re-located to anywhere else besides the engine bay, hence COLD air, not HOT air from the engine bay.

yeah i understand that. i just havent seen any cold air systems on any of the sites, most have been short rams, and the injen site has extensions. are there any complete cold air systems without extensions or is it all really the same stuff?

the systems like injen are pretty good since you can always switch over to short ram system due to weather (i.e. switch it over during winter so it won't get as dirty)

are there any other sites that sell it? i figured the injen site would be the most expensive. anyone have any opinions on the hotshot CAI? i found it on dragracing.com for 154.99 shipped....

Why is it that people always get stuff mixed up. I took a look at the ad and they list an 89-90 16V. In 89 it was a SOHC 12V. So now I have too email them and ask if the year is wrong or the engine.

I've got a 93' 240SX that has a full CAI system on it to include the extension. When I had the intake as a short ram, all I could notice was that the car sounded meaner but no more HP. When I installed the extension and put the filter inside the fender, throttle response increased and was definitely noticible. By the way, I started with a no-name cheap short ram intake off Ebay and bought an Injen Cold Air Extension. I had to cut the MAF adapter off a few inches and also the CAE pipe to fit, but it was no biggie. Total price: $117! Go with an intake that extends into the fender, it is worth the money!

I was wondering about the switch from summer weather to winter weather. I've heard on some cars that you can't have a cold air intake because it will suck in the snow or something? Someone enlighten me please.

yes tdogg, if you have a cold air, you can suck up water, dirt, bugs, etc. People i know with their Hon-DUHs either dont drive their car in weather, get a bypass vavle ( doesnt work that well ), or disconnect thier piping from the bypass valve and make it a short ram.

I've been looking at the prices for CAI systems and have decided to make my own. I was wondering if anyone knows if air flow sensor next to the stock air box will work if the air flow were reversed???Or is it directional?? This would save me a step in my creation process and a couple of $$. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure its directional. If you reverse it I think you get a negative voltage instead???
