Did you purchase yours from Jspec? They clain that theirs fit S13 and S14 without any modifications.
Did you ever remove pull the tabs out on the e-brake inorder for the springs to collapse?
So that the button would still pop-up?

Nope. I did NOTHING to the spring. I just pushed the button on. It stays in by friction on the inside of the handle and comes back out when I pull on it. No muss. No fuss. You don't need to take the whole mess apart. That is just too much hassle. Mine works great.

oh alright, that makes sense. I really dont wanna mess with my spring, I want to be able to retrieve the spring once the **** is on. Alright this makes much more sense, thanks a lot.

Alright I received the "spin turn ****" aka "drift button" today and I did exactly what Gladhatter did. I just pushed the **** over the stock botton and shoved it down! No need to work with the springs, just shove it down the button and it works! So when you purchase a drift **** (i got mine from jspec.com) just shove it right down and dont play with the springs. Saves you time and you dont have to put the springs back to where the tabs were removed later down the line. Thanks for everyone's posts!

Do all pro Drifters use drift buttons, or do some use the orignal side-brake button? Useless question, but I wanna know anyway

i don't believe that the pros dont even use the e brake for their drifts. i could be wrong tho, but using the E brake or Side brake whatever you want to call it is a way to get the car sideways for beginners. oh and i think the Side brake is also used if the car begins to or you feel as if you are going to understeer. but i still don't believe that the pros use the side brake.

it just helps by not locking up when you pull up on it when youre practicing. you dont necessarily need it, it just helps you know.

it's more of a convenience thing really... *** uses his E-brake on tight low speed turns (probably to get those big 18's loose) but from the in-car angles I can't tell if he's got a button at all on it or not
