actually if your car is manual and you leave it in gear with a remote start, the car would just stall

i thought remote starters couldn't work on a manual? how would u put the clutch in to make it start?

Anyway, check out the clifford matrix RS series, they're pretty sweet..

yes remote starters work on stick.. and how it works you have to disable the clutch pedal switch where u dont need to push in the clutch to start the car up.

The only side effect I had was embarassment when my car started rolling.

Actually you're supposed to leave the car in gear when you park. Sometimes parking brakes will loosen up and your car will roll after it's aprked for a bit (brake pad retraction). That's the whole purpose of the "clutch safety switch" where the car won't start in gear (or at all) unless you're stepping on the clutch, which ensures that the engine will start without the car lunging forward or reverse. The drag of the drivetrain connected to the wheels when the car is in gear kind of eases the strain on the parking brake.

Lady, didn't we cover the whole "using a remote start with a manual" thing in your alarm post?

not to be a punk or anything but all that said above sounds like bull... you can certainly out a remote start on a manual. you have to get a clutch over ride for the manual. if you order one from somewhere you jsut ahve to tell them you are puttin it on a manual car. my car was automatic and now its a manual and my remote start works just as good as it did before.

I have the viper alarm system with remote start and turbo timer, and everything works just fine on my sr. Just don't leave it in car and make sure your parking brake is in tune. I think this topic is dead. Bottom line, remote start is fine on manual.
