so this is a more personal, half drunk, just got done arguing with my girl post, but i want to use this pic, as a reminder to all who've followed m build, to prive that not all that glitters is gold...

i just got into a huge argument with my woman... huge... so i broke off, went outside to smoke my black and mild to cool down a little but, and to add some personality to this post, when i went and sat in my chair this is what i see....

DSCF2001.jpg?t=1259816826

... my "sweet" car, in my driveway... looking all low as the rear end is on jack stands waiting for a new rear knuckle, but even as nice as some of you guys think my car car is, look closer.... it's on jack stands, there's a 6y/o bed sheet covering the driver side window because it wont go up anymore due to worn out brushes in the motor, needs a new alignment... but still, as what I'm trying to accomplish here with the emotional aspect, is that, no matter how bad things get, either with how "sweet" my/your car is, or whatever stage your build, car may be in... it's still there... when you get done with an argument with your parents, girlfriend, wife, in no matter what state of repair, or perfection, you car is still there waiting for you, with no expectations, it's there, waiting, for you, and your attention, no matter what, to what end, it's there...

this goes out to people with what some may consider lesser cars, projects, or restos... no matter what level your project may be, it will always be there, loving, and waiting for the next part you throw at it, and will appreciate it no matter what...

no matter how bad or good things get, the one constant will always, and ALWAYS be your car/project.

Marshall.

PS. about 10 beers to the wind, and had some thoughts you guys might be interested in...

so yeah, as some of you may know, i was having wheel/tire/suspension issues... i noticed a bit o squrillely action with my back end, so i figured "hell, it's got to be the china suspension everyone talks so much **** about", so i replaced my RLCAs with the OEM units and went for an alignment...

alignments done, and the right side sits semi sunk like any +30 wheel would, and the the driver side was about 1/2" out, like it was a +12.... measured a bunch of **** on the frame, everything lined up, then went to a frame shop and the owner said i bent the left rear knuckle... WTF!?!?!?!?

SO i get home, look at it in the dark and i realize it's CRACKED... i didin't know how bad it was till i got it off....

so, i finally got some pics of the damage....

DSCF2002.jpg?t=1259886001

see how it's sloped? that's at the ball joint mount...

DSCF2007.jpg?t=1259886071

DSCF2008-1.jpg?t=1259886096

so much for Godspeed arms being complete ****, cause those held up with no issues after a massive wheel drop at the track, and OEM CAST IRON knuckle not only bent, but cracked...

someone needs to find the 12 year old Chinese kid who welded my arms together in a sweat shop, and give him a job at the Nissan Engineering/Design Department..

well small update....

I'm upgrading the tow *****, yet at the same time, downgrading.. i needed something that towed my car a little better, i noticed that the 4.8L V8 in the black truck was a bit sluggish, and straining on the hills, and on ramps... and i've been worried about pushing it too hard...

so, I'm trading it tomorrow for an older truck (1997 vs my current 1999), at has a **** ton more power and gobs of tq for towing, as 2010 is going to be a big big year for me as far as drifting goes, and i'll be getting my own trailer, and towing my car to ALL events, even the local ones, so i don't have to worry about breaking down and paying hefty tow bills... that, and this truck get's better gas mileage, towing, and empty, than my current 99 4.8L, so wooo hooo!!

here it is...

1997 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 6.5L TURBO diesel, crew cab, 130K, and my favorite, DUALLY (and 2wd so i can slam it!).... all power options, leather seats, heat, AC, all that ****...

0106001715b.jpg?t=1262826260

i've been wanting one of these since i could drive, back then, for the looks, now, for the looks and the tow capacity!

plans for this rig include either a 4/6 or 5/6 static drop, with rear bags to help with towing, repainting it black (jams and all), 4" exhaust, chip, and upgraded turbo and/or more boost... DONE....

can't wait, getting it tomorrow, should prove to be the best tow rig for what I'm doing!

now to get a trailer.....

It's going to suck when you need to get new tires.

I think you need you invest in some seat harnesses.

It'll keep you still so you can focus on driving more and be more precise. God knows that helped me get better x10 faster.
