New lighting idea!
New lighting idea!
Okay, so Im getting some fog light projectors off an 04-06 maxima, and theyre supposedly pretty compact, so I figure I could put them in the blinker housings, kinda like this...

Where I can still use them as blinkers, and fogs at the same time. Its hard to illustrate, but try to imagine

they arent small enough i can tell ya that. try some hella optillux or hella 35mm fogs, they might work in there with minimal cutting of the housing. i really doubt you are going to get anything to work well in there. also the horizontal lines in the lense are really going to mess up the beam, vertical lines are no problem but horizontal lines will really spread the intensity of the beam exactly where you dont want it and throw some obnoxious glare. if you get the fog lights for free it's still worth a try though; but the more conventional mounting on the bumper seems to work best for various obvious reasons.

phantom- just get some fully enclosed water tight projectors like hella optillux. they are good units (what i use)
Blech. Thats too plain and easy! I thought about something while I was smoking a cig a while ago. The horizontal lines are no problem at all, all i have to do is sand them out, and make sure to polish it up nice, just like how the MX-6 guys pur projectors in their fluted lens headlights.
I want to use the maxima fogs somehow though, as I already paid for em... Ill find a way to use them eventually, maybe not on the 240 though. Mind taking some pics of the output on the optiluxes?
BTW: I am on hidplanet, so lighting isnt exactly new science to me... lol. There are definately better options than opti's from what i read...

i only really reccomended optillux's because they are so tiny. blazers, maximas, and hella 35mm are very popular too. i will be glad to get an output pic, it might take a few days though. you will have problems sanding the lines out of the lenses, they are not like most fluted lenses rather they are really rouned and it will be impossible to sand within such a small area. if you are stuck on the idea i reccomend you fab up a new lense with some lexan and a heat gun.
lol. Im the kind of person who will buy the CORRECT part, and use it while spending months fabricating something as insignificant as blinker mounted fog lights. lol. Yeah, the fogs are going on the back burner. I have a few ideas that im thinking of, but there are too many good ones..
youre a *****. You just HAD to showoff the kouki's ready acceptance of HID projectors didnt you? lol. anywayz, those fogs are kinda dim, but overall not bad. Happen to know any fogs that take well to HID?
yeah since the fogs only throw yellow light they didn't show up well with the sodium parking deck lights. they really are pretty good. blazer fog lights, maxima fog lights, and hella 35mm take well to hid burners. i think lexus is300 might aswell... run a search on hidplanet
