paint and pinstripeing

Hey everyone i have a 91 240sx and it has a re4ally really bad paint job to the point where the clear coat is coming off in different spots so i have 2 questions for you.

I have that annoying pin-stripeing on my car and it is all dry and cracked and i cannot peel it off because every time i grip it a extremely tiny piece will come off and it is like impossible to get off. do you have any suggestions? thanx.

also...

That clearcoat i was talking about... it looks like big sunspots where someone took a torch and burnt the paint off in circles. the paint is still there but it is faded if you have any suggestions please tell me thanx.

with the pinstripes... bring your hair dryer out and an extention cord.. this might help.. thats what i did with my friend's car.. but then you'll still have that 'great lookin paint' underneath the pinstripes.. so.. you'll still have em..

ps..
i still have that pinstripe goin on too after i removed mine

Yeah, you can always get a cheap paint job. When you're on a budget, sometimes you need to ask yourself, is a cheap job going to be worse then what I already have now? Typically, the answer is no. As far as the pinstriping is concerned, the heat gun is definitely the way to go. Just be careful not to keep it in one place for too long.

Good luck,
Matt

maybe once we're done with the crx project I can fix my paint too. I have the same problem but I think mine was because of a bad paint job, one back quarter panel is a little dull, the other one looks like fresh paint but got polka dots but underneath the fresh lookin paint is the same color paint. Looks like someone just sprayed over the old coat but im not worried bout looks at the moment, but a new paintjob wouldnt be a bad fix.
