painting my lip

I was wondering how people painted their front bumper lip? I've been thinking of doing this on my own but don't really know the process .

I have a white s14. Where did you guys buy the paint? Did you guys have to buy a clear coat too?

my lip has scratches and a crack btw. Thanks in advanced.

Hope this helps:

1- Take off lip from bumper
2- Sand down the whole lip
3- Use some bondo or body filler to fix that crack
4- Primer the whole lip
5- Sand again (dont take the primer off though, just sand it slightly)
6- Paint it with your desired color (give it about 3-4 light even coats)
7- Spray on the clear coat (about 2-3 light coats)
8- Attach lip back onto bumper
9- ENJOY!

Hit me up if you need any more help (like what grit of sandpaper to use, kinds of paint. etc.)

PM me or AIM (best way to reach me)

P.S. Are you gonna paint your valve cover too?

Or if your car is daily driven and super low, do what I do:

1) wash car
2) use semi-gloss spray paint
3) lay cardboard on the ground under the front end
4) spray away.

LOL I probably do this once a week because I always scrape the lip and my car is black, so the white scrapes totally show

But where did you guys buy the matching paint (the company and name). I can't find the pearl white.

you will never be able to find a good match on Auto zone or any Duplicolor paint for pearl white...my 240 is the same color as yours....
