UPDATE!

The machine shop I went to has been swamped since racing season is comming up so he cannot get me a parts list he likes. Taking that into account I will be purchasing the pistons/rods/and headgasket on monday morning.

I will be purchasing a set of 8.8comp .020"over pistons and a set of eagle rods from Arias on monday morning along with a cometic headgasket. After that will come all the minor parts like the bearings, a rebuild kit, and ARP studs all around. I hope to begin work on the motor by the end of this month. I will post up some pics later of the srtipped engine bay before we begin the re-paint.

Ordered some Arias .020 over forged pistons, some eagle rods, and a cometic multilayer metal head gasket from Arias yesterday. Should be here soon. As soon as I get the parts I can have the block punched out. I hope to have the rotating assembly in the block by about april, with the completed block ready to drop in the chassis by May.

If you ever need internals I recommend Arias based on thier customer service. Give them an A+++, NEVER dealt with a better company, so helpful in chainging my order around. I had asked them for a set of stock pistons along with the rods and head gasket. I found out later before paying that I needed a set of over bored pistons and they swapped them out and sent my order on its way.

Well my shipment from Arias Pistons came in today. In the box was a set of .020" Over forged pistons with 8.8CR, a set of Eagle ESP H-Beam rods, and a Cometic head gasket. I'll be taking the pistons out in a few minutes to the engine shop to have my block bored to fit them. Here are the pics....maybe I took too many??

Building the motor on campus so I got a college discount. Just a shade under $1k for that stuff, now I need main/head studs, bearings, and a timing rebuild kit. I guess my plan to rebuild AND boost the motor for the cost of an SR is kinda out the window, but this should end up near bulletproof when I'm done.

P.S. WOOT! Never thought I'd be able to post on a forum and say I got made a purchase with "k" in the price.....

Ok smoke, that was just damn creepy.......

Sad part is though I'm building the motor for 20+psi, my goal is only 250wtq, so its gonna end up over built for the time being. Ill turn up the boost to the 20+ later though.
