Isnt it unrealistic to say just put a turbo on your stock 240sx because it wont pass smog

if you get the SR20DET it comes wiht the turbo stock so he will pass you right through

i have never been to smog or anything but i hear if he spots a turbo he will just not pass you

1. You can pass smog with a turbo if it is tuned right. Get a engine management package and tune it down for the smog test.

2. SR20DET aint going to pass right thru. You will have to supply paperwork for it seeing that it is not the original engine for the car. I think you guys get a hard visual test there as well as just smog. Plus they might bang you for the age of car / engine rule. Engine must be newer than the car it is swapped into.

3. If you have something, anything on your car that does not have a DOT label on it you are in for a fight. That is what I hear from my friend Cali Mike.

4. I live in NYC and we follow Cali like a lost little brother. It is a pain but put up with it and get your car running right. OR do what a lot of people do. Get the inspector a BLT with extra L.
