My car- made in the 80's, has an engine with only one camshaft, and would probably get spanked by your mom's Camry in the quarter-mile. But I still love it. And as long as it's still running, I'm keeping the SOHC KA. I'm sure I'm gonna learn so much more by maximizing the power I have with the current engine, and develop techniques that I probably wouldn't have if I had a turbo to lean on. Then, when I finally go SR, I'll be able to transfer my abilities and be even that much better. It'll be a fun experience.

As a result, I've pretty much abandoned the thought of trying to increase the power of my KA, as it seems rather futile to spend hundreds of dollars to raise my power only 10hp. Instead, I've focused on braking and suspension to get my car as responsive and agile as it can be. I also installed a bucket seat, which was a tremendous help in making me feel at one with the car. And I can't understate the usefulness of my LSD, without it I'd just be spinning around burning up tires- one at a time.

As for the car's exterior, I like to keep things simple and clean. I actually like the 89-90 front bumper! I even choose to go back to it after throwing on a 91-94 bumper for awhile. I do have some minor plans for the exterior, but nothing extreme. In the end, I just want it to look like it was made after Ghostbusters II.
initial D strikes again.

It's flat black to me. Flat black looks that way when there's no clear coat and all.

that isn't flat black, it has a clear coat on it. It does look like a plain dark grey to me. Why don't you find a autopaint catalog and try and match the color?

Whoops, my bad. Was focusing on the front bumper too much. Didn't seem like it had a clear coat. Then yeah, it's prob a characoal color.
