almost every time i log onto this site i see that the "welcome our newest neighbor" thing has changed to a differen't new user...so my question is where are these people? if so many new people are joining this site why the hell dont they say anything?

There are a lot of new members which is good. It is kind of hard posting to all the sites.

It is good to post local events here most of the tri-staters are here and NICO.
