Have lead on 96 240sx with 156k - value?
No prob. I help out where I can. If the noise is coming from the rear, I would have to say it has something to do with the differential. However, I'm not immediately connecting how disengaging the clutch could produce a sound way back there. Not unless the decrease in speed of the driveshaft is somehow causing the noise.

Well, in light of all of the cars major problems, i was very surprised that it sold for $2600 at a wholesale auto auction. That is the kbb value of the car in good condition. Nuts. I wasn't willing to pay more than $1300.
