SR20det gremlins-running lean perhaps?

i have an s13 blacktop in an s13, but its running off a redtop ecu. for a while i had a warped turbo manifold, so it wasn't seeing full boost because of the exhaust leak. i just got a new mani put on it, so now its running full boost. but its slower now, and kinda spits while going through boost. also, the header glows bright *** red.

could it be running lean?? i'm running the stock KA fuel pump, is that sufficient or should i upgrade to like a walbro 255?

also, the header is the only part the gets hot. engine temp is normal, but the mani is red as fawkkkk.

any help will be greatly appreciated

Anybody got anything?

I have a stock ka fuel filter on it and I know most people run the z32 filter. I staight lined while I had a full tank to see if the fuel filter was too reseictive and that didn't change anything. Also, I pinched the return line and that didn't change anything either so it's not the pressure regulator.

Could it be the O2 sensor??

I am not really sure what is making your manifold glow red. that is weird man. Seems like your misfiring or something. What boost are you running?

well, i havent got a boost guage in it. but its all stock so it should be running stock boost. the only non-stock items on it are a megan racing manifold and downpipe and a FMIC kit.

im gettin a boost gauge tomorrow or the next day so ill know for sure later this week.

well if your running stock boost, it shouldnt get that hot. You could have low fuel pressure which could be a bad thing. Running lean is very dangerous man. Get your fuel system checked out for pressure.

you just put a gauge in line with the line going into the fuel rail. Before the FPR

well, i put a different fuel pump in it(suppose to be a walboro but i dont think it is) and its runnin better. it pulls all the way through boost with out bustin up. i have just a regular Autometer A/F ratio gauge and it still says its runnin close to lean most of the time. Are these gauges accurate or do i need a wideband?

also, i finally got a boost gauge and at WOT, its pushin like 9psi. isnt stock SR boost 7psi?

oh okay. im thinking its aftermarket, but it could be on a s14 SR. i havent talked to the guy thats sellin it any since im broke right now lol. a buddy of mine just told me about it. depending on how i can work out my funds, i may be pickin up a '90 coupe this week or next for a dd, then ima park my hatch and go through it and do everything right instead of doin this and that to keep it runnin. thanks for your help man. ill keep **** that i figure out is wrong with it posted lol

I also have a bunch of turbos and as a matter I think I have a mint kouki s14 t28 if you want it for cheap pm me and we'll talk about it. I really dont mind at all to help ya out!
