Best tire sizes for OEM 5lug rims?
I have stock s14 5lug rims, 16x6.5. I was planing to buy 205/45/16 for the front and 215/40/16 for the rear. Do you think 215 will create too much sideflex and bulge for 6.5"? Let me know what you guys think.

205/55-16 is the stock size and always a good idea to get to keep speedo from being inaccurate. If you desire more contact patch, you can go up to a 225/50-16 on a 6.5" with no problems with bulging, with no speedo errors. Only thing I am not sure of is whether or not the tires will fit under the car without rubbing...

You don't want to go with a smaller tire i.e. your "205/45-16" idea because you could suffer a blowout. My friend who works at Toyo told me that you should always check the load rating of the tire you're going to get... i.e. I wanted to try 205/50-16's (one step smaller on the sidewall) but the load rating wasn't enough for my S14. As for widest, believe it or not you can fit a 225/50 on the stock SE wheel, as confirmed by the same guy I mentioned above. BTW He's not in sales - he's in tech, and he has all kinds of figures and specs etc. that he works with in order to suggest tire sizes.
He said you could go with a smaller tire, but the chances of having a blowout are too high to risk just to go "lower profile".

Hey I gotta change out the tires in my S14 too because 17K+ miles of not rotating them killed them (shoulda known better).
I got the standard 205-55-16 size on them right now, I was thinking about going +1 215-50-16 all the way around.
According to both tirerack and discount tire that size is the other recommended size to keep the speedo from being altered.
What's the pro and cons of going with that size as opposed to keeping the standard one I already got?
(I'm changing all 4 tires by the way)
Thanks for the time.

Kumho MX - Great in the dry, comparable to Toyo Proxes T1-S or RA-1. I run these on my WRX and have absolutely no complaints other than a slightly noisy ride. Turn up the radio and go! Also has an ugly sidewall.
Toyo Proxes4 - I have drove on these tires and can safely say that they are as good, if not better, than the Proxes FZ4. Some people are referring to them as the cheap version of the T1-S.
Falken FK-451 - This is my personal next choice for tires on my 240 once the ones that came with the car wear out. Have read of many people successfully using these in auto-x events and claims of grip similar to Azenis Sports.
And if you are going to go drifting, put on the cheapest tires you can find
