I'm really confused about offsets and stuff, would someone mined explaining them to me. I'm lookin at rims and I want make sure that they will fit well.

The torque 5's in gunmetal, I think I may go with the 17's, any help is appreciated.

 

offset is the relation of where you bolt to the hub from the rim.

A center offset is the middle of the rim is in the center of the overall rim width.
So a rim that is 10 inched wide will have a center offset 5 inches from the edge of the rim.

If the it has a negative offset it will be 4 or less from the edge closet to the engine
A positive is anything from 6 or more from the edge.

I may have the negative and postitive but im sure someone will correct me.

 

thanks man, I appreciate it. Would you happen to know what the stock offsets are for a 96' 240 with the alloy wheels?

 

they are +40 but i wouldnt get anyting around that offset for stock, go with more of a +25
