drift coilovers vs regular coilovers
drift coilovers vs regular coilovers
seeing how many companies are releasing coilovers stating they are "drift spec", wat makes them different from regular coilovers?
I assume it has to do with the spring rates or shock damping...and if it is, how does the stiffness compare to regular coilovers?
...or is it something else like coil size, coil thickness, etc?

You mean how Tanabe DD are considered "Drift Coils" while Tein HE's aren't?
Or how Megan's sells "Track" and "Street"
it's just higher srping rate.
But if you're smart you wouldn't care what it's called and buy what you want.
Get some stance with 7/9kg and call it a day.

wtf are you guys talking about??
Most "real" ( few and far between) drift coilovers have way different dampening, there springs rates are a tad higher. The bound is stiff and the rebound is slower.

...and levi covered that like 2 posts up.
disclaimer: i personally dont have much knowledge in this area because im not really into drifting as much as some people, and therefore run KTS which are meant more for "grip" driving and have never looked into "drift spec" coilovers..
