Unhappy Give me a brake!

I have a 90 240 SX SE. I am trying to pass inspection and am coming up with no rear brakes on either side. I just had the the master cylinder replaced cause I figured since both arent working and there is one line to feed both brakes on the cylinder, it was the logical explination. Still, no rear brakes, and the car now stops horribly! The fronts brake worse with the replacement master cylinder (also replaced all pads and rotors, they stop half as good as before anything was changed and smoke alot you can smell the pads burning up). I doubt this is a bleeding issue, the rear rotors are cool to the touch, the fronts are on fire. Could both rear calipers be bad at the same time? Kind of ironic. HELP! Could I have gotten a wrong Master cylinder, I am pretty sure my car is non abs (no indicator light inside)

my first guess would've been a bleeding issue but if its not that... then i can only think of a couple of things.

did you seat the pistons correctly? If you didn't seat the front pistons then the pads would bite the rotors despite whether you press on the brake pedal or not.

Also it could be bad leaky lines somewhere or a clogged one (i dunno how that would happen). All the brake fluid could be allocating all the pressure to your front. double check for leaks. If you did bleed the rear correctly then you should have fluid going in. If you have no fluid or weak pressure the the master cylinder might be faulty or the lines are loose somewhere. I would check EVERYTHING for leaks.

Sorry if this doesn't help.. hopefully you'll get a better answer.
