Okay, in doing final prep for my 240 to hit the streets, i decided to drive it around the parking lot a few times to re-learn the car...and when i made a left turn, it sounded like the pass side front wheel was grinding against something.. it also souded like this when i went over a decent bump. I figure its the wheel bearing... its been out of service for 3 years and has gotten almost flooded (half an inch higher and it would have been)... so i figured it did like my sister's old mustang and rusted after getting submerged in water and not driven for years... anyone have any suggestions? Also, anyone have experience with the wheelbearings in the front wheels?

#1 dont street drift.
#2 shake your wheel if theres is play then its a bad wheel bearning.

Also you can may just be bottoming out and you are rubbing on your inner fender.

 

well im not at the 240 at the moment, but...

1) i wasnt drifting in the parking lot...we work like 2 blocks from the sheriff's building.
2)you mean the wheel or steering wheel? Cuz the steering is pretty tight.

The car is lowered with tein s-tech springs on factory rims and tires (205/60/r15 H) so i wouldnt think that im rubbing or bottoming out... though i might be. Maybe spacers if i am rubbing?

 

grab your actual wheel and rock it, there shouldn't be any play, if there is your wheel bearing is bad.

 

damn... jackin up a lowered car is a PITA... ill try to do it today...

 

How do you jack up a lowered car? Cuase I got a craftsman jack and it's already really hard to get it under the car. I wanna get coils and lower it and have been wondering how i'm ever gonna get her back up once i do?

 

drive the car up somekind of ramp?

 

drive up on some 2x4's and slide a jack underneath, or get some ramps

 

yeah, or if you cant do either of those two, or use the factory jack to raise it up enough to get your floor jack underneath it... thats what i did last time...
