J30 rear end swap....

my buddy was telling me about the infinity J30's having a stock VLSD in them. Ive been wanting to get riid of the gay open diff on my s13 coupe.I already X-ed out the HICAS swap because of the power eater and the difficulty in doin so. Weve been junk yard searching for a s14 SE and them bad boys are scarce up there. My question is.....Will the whole J30 rearend fit under the s13? what parts will i need for this swap? as far as axles, diff unit, driveshaft maybe? Is the swap possible or even worth it? is ther an easier way to swap from an open diff to a VLSD and still benefit from a 5 lug conversion at the same time??(and as i said previously....the s14 SE is not an option right now....the jyard has a ton of J30's sittn around and no s14's) any and all feedback will be appriciated....thanx guys

yea i did that...............it didnt help with shyt. Granted it says it can be done....but doesnt say a damn thing about drivshaft solutions. It says that im gona have drivshaft issues but yet....doesnt say anything about a solution for it. And from what im gathering.....early j30's used a 5 bolt pattern....later j30's used a tri-y 6 bolt pattern. s13's and s14's hav a tri-y 6 bolt pattern....okay got that. Need axles for it....got that. Now for the drivshaft????? isnt sounding like its really worth the time if i have to hav a custom shaft made.....any other opions on this one???

so u think its worth the time bro?? is ther any difference in a s13 and a s14 drivshaft? i plan on getting the axles and what not anyway (even if it wasnt needed for the swap.....5 lug.....but since it is needed......) but besides that it should be straight shot...bolt on??? its times like this i wish i wouldnt have settled for a s13 and jus went for my dream s14. Thanx alot tho bro- alot more helpful than what ive been getting on this.

well no difference in s14 s13 drive shaft only differences are the Auto, ABS and normal 5-speed shafts.

the j30 with a normal 5speed tranny will use a normal 5speed shaft or with auto will use auto shaft. abs shaft wont work

um well i talked to my friend he got a 6bolt j30 lsd and he used s14 axles to bolt right up also he had to use a different pumpkin cover because on a s13 the cover would hit the subframe.

but s14 is just complete bolt on

95,96 j30 fit without axles, 92-94 j30 need j30 axles to fit..and you have to replace the j30 pumkin rear cover with your open pumpkin cover in order to fit perfectly(for s13 only)..s14 are just bolt on..
