Quick noob question about offset

I was just looking around at wheels online and when it gives you an option of an offset it just says 45mm,35mm and 24mm....... I know what possitive and negative offset is and how it affects the performance but what I want to know is what they are refering to? I'm thinking their refering to possitive offset because if it was just 0 offset it would just be in the center......... ( all of my info might be ALL wrong so please correct me if it is so I can learn from it!)......... thnx in advance...

if it's a negative offset..they'll refer to it as a NEGATIVE offset.

IE: -12

Since its those numbers it's obviously positive.

..and for some reason I feel like you are talking about camber..
