Re-Surface Slotted Rotors?

Re-Surface Slotted Rotors?

Is it possible or will i ruin the lathe or rotors?

I work in a machine shop and we turn parts all the time that have slots or holes in them. you just have to make sure the tool is sharp, and that you are not trying to make too large of a cut. The tools deflect off the metal surface and when they hit a hole or slot they tend to sink back in, and then the hole ends and bam they take a hit. so just go slow and take your time should be fine.

That's because it's not being done the right way.

I know thats why i said you cant take a large cut. I was just stating what happens when they take too big of a cut.... sorry

I'm referring to your comment about "sinking in". You're right - that's why it normally breaks stuff, so I said what I said because if you do it the right way there's no worries =)

read above post...... set them up as a normal rotor and make small cuts with the tool.....
