Bad struts wont give you a "rough" ride... itll be springy and mooshy... btw this is what i would do... you have an s13 right? well i bought s - tech springs and some shocks, and this is how it will look and all

my car isnt filthy, its dew... this is how i would get off the nuts and bolts... get a can of this stuff called aero kroil and looks like this

get a big 1/2" drive breaker bar, a 17mm socket, and a 17mm wrench. Get the spray and douse it, lightly tap it with a hammer to shock it, and then have at it with the breaker bar... make sure the breaker bar is like 2 feet long. after that, get new bolts and nuts and have fun puttin your stuff back together

^agreed dead shocks/struts will feel like a pogo stick... the rough ride might be attributed to stiffer spring rates that aren't matched to the correct shocks.

dude phantom i love your ride height...i want that..but i dont get how that worked..arent s techs 1.5 front and 1.2 rear? my car looks like crap right now..it looks so high, especially the front looks like it needs a 2.5 drop or somethin lol...the only thing im scared of is getting s techs and them not being low enough

well my car in the photo has s-techs on them, so thats what itll look like. The car is dropped id say 1.75" after the springs and shocks settle down. Ill take a pic cuz that ones old. If ya wanna go even lower, get good coilovers. other than that i dont really know what else

so your saying that the box says 1.5 front but after a while they settle down to 1.75? Right now im thinking of getting stechs with kyb agx shocks..will i have a ride height like the one in ur pic? what do the agx's mean when they say "adjustable"? does that mean i can control how much a want to drop it or raise it?

adjustable just means how stiff the strut is, i think. It doesnt affect ride height as far as i know. I went with gr2's cuz my car isnt going to be a track car as much as it is gonna be a daily driver. the gr2's are a lot less expensive. And about the springs settling, what happens is all the rubber and stuff compacts to where its gonna sit for the rest of its life, up to 1/4 and inch. If you get gr2's and s techs your 240 will look exactly like mine. I dont know much about agx's but i think theyd look the same

springs shouldn't "settle" unless they're cheapo springs. Eibachs don't settle, Tein's don't settle, H&R don't settle (excuse the ghetto lingo)... like Phanton mentioned, it's the rest of your stuff that goes from fully extended/no load (when you jack the car up and there's no weight on the components like bushings, rubber dampeners, etc.) to compressed/ with load (after you install your new springs and put the car - and it's weight - back onto the suspension).
