tie rod install question?

I did my tein tie rod/ tie rod end install today. they went on quickly and easily. But I have one question? I nstalled it with the optional spacer ring (for better steering) and the little ring that was bent over the original tie rod , the one thats bettween the tie rod and the steering rack that keeps it from turning loose, dosnt reach now that the spacers in place. I was wondering if it is really that important for the new tie rods or can I drive and not worry about the rod coming loose on me. I made sure I tightened the rod in there as good as I could, but wasnt sure?

You must be talking about the locking plates. If you used the spacers then you don't have to install the locking plates. Just make sure everything is tight and you should be fine.

Like I said, if you installed the spacers then you don't need the locking plates. You should be good to go.

..with the spacers out there's less thread but that's ok..i just went ahead and used some aedhesive...some loctite or something like that to make EXTRA sure...don't you like the feel of the teins? also, when/if you can upgrade the tie rod ends, it'll be sweet. instead of ball joint tie rod ends, you can get joint ends (ex. kazama) good luck

uh... wouldn't it just make sense to get tein tie rod ends with tein tie rods?
