^people do that **** all the time... my friend that works at a wheel/tire shop says thats how they always take care of it... find the closest socket, beat it on there and wrench it off

Okay....that does seem to be the consensus on how to get it off...........however, i did that exact thing, and merely ended up stripping the socket!

I'm thinking about getting a dremmel tool and just cutting into the lugnut enough to get through to the stud, relieving the stress on the lug so i can then loosen it off more easily

They sell special socket type things (I'm tired I know not very descriptive) that you can pound on that have reversed threads on the inside so they grab the lug and allow you to get it off.

they do have a bolt out socket set. i think the weekend sale is over tho. i was just there on sunday

SO I bought the Craftsman bolt out set, and used the largest available attachment.......

The locking lugs are circular, so I didn't get much grip, and actually stripped the BOLT OUT piece!

This is a lost cause.


I am just going to dremmel the ***** out of the thing until I penetrate through to relieve the stress

Finally got the LUG OFF!

I took it to a local tire place, and after breaking a special propietary socket, the guy managed to get it off...

Final Cost.............$18

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

HAAHAHAHAHA this is hilarious.. do you have air tools and a good sized compressor? if not ask for a compressor for Christmas and buy yourself an impact gun from a pawn shop with sockets.
