Im sure you could essentially make the 300hp with out building the motor, but that would last for a few days before something breaks. There has to be some level of "refreshing" to the motor especially since its high mileage and its going to be boosted.

Samething would go for the SR, to a certain extent. As for pistons, forged would definately be nice since they dissipate heat much faster and piston rings, etc. would be nice to replace at this point as well.

for bottom end i would say pistons, rods, rings, all new bearings, honed cylinder walls, and a polished crank should do well.

cheack out www.ka-t.org if a KA is what you are going to do, they are the specialists in boosted KA's

you can get 324 out of bolt on parts... turbo, injectors, fmic, exhaust, safc2 stock block and head. i saw it 10 hours ago.

btw... turbo curves go

l................./........
l............../...........
l.........../.............
l........./.............
l......./......................
l..../................
l./___________________

With an larger turbo setup (ex. gt25 and up) the car will continue to make power until redline

A smaller turbo running the same about of boost will have hp/tq peak much much lower, and drop off before redline:

l.../................................

sorry for the even ****ty "dynos"
If you want a power curve like that first one you show... go buy a car you can supercharger

idk, but i think torque curve only goes like that when your turbo is bigger than your steering wheel.

this dyno sheet is from a 2.5L EJ25 WRX with an 18G

i want a dyno sheet similar to this general curve

Ok heres what i suggest - youve got 1 of 2 options - 1: get a 240 with decent miles on the KA and overall (Im selling mine if youre interested - pm me for details) get a gtir t28, megan racing bottom mount manifold, walbro 255 pump, s15 480cc injs, 3inch turbo back exhaust, ACT heavy duty street clutch setup, ebay fmic, ebay bov, emanage with inj and ign harnesses, z32 maf, plx wideband, oil pressure gauge, and boost gauge. Now install all of this onto your ka - turn the boost to 10psi, get it tuned so its safe, and be happy - at this level on that turbo you should net around 240-270whp depending on tuning and a TON of torque (this is what im doing with my next car - ive been researching extremely thoroughly and for a long time - its what you do when you have no money lol). Option number 2: get an sr20, either install it yourself or get it installed, walbro, s15 injs, s15 turbo or gtir t28, fmic, bov, z32 maf, wideband, emanage (or other tuning device - preferrably not safc because they dont last too long and cant fine tune as much as others), 3inch turbo back, turn up boost and your there right along side of the KA...buutttttt - you will have less tq and maybe even less hp due to the size diff. of the motors. You could also do it the cheap way and just get an SR, 3inch tbe, mbc, fmic, and turn up the boost to like 15psi where at this point your killing that ridiculously small turbo that cant handle 15psi too efficiently and just have fun with it until something blows up on you . Either way KA is best do what you please just as long as you can beat civics the world will keep turning

Here's two perfect examples:
Both have FMICs, 3" exhausts, log style exhaust manifolds...

s13rymos' 240, gt2871r, 550s etc (324whp/305wtq) -
