engine management

I bought a 95 240 for an everyday driver. I plan to build a KA with 9:1 compression and replacing the pistons, rods, rings, bearings. I want to run between 8 to 12 psi. For engine management for a boosted everyday driver I was thinking of using a elecronic boost controller, bigger fuel pump, Vortec FMU and maybe a MSD 6BTM
Is that sufficient and or is there a cheaper/easier way that will be just as good?

First, if you plan on replacing the internals with forged stuff, then you better run more boost than that PLEASE! You would be fine running 15 psi daily. Remember, the KA is cast iron, so you're engine is pretty much bullet proof with internals. As for the fuel pump, just get a factory Supra fuel pump and you'll be set with whatever hp you want. Hope that helps a little.

i wouldn't have to run anymore engine management than that? I learned my lesson with turbos and no engine management on a POS honda (before you say it i know nissans are way better). I was just considering that amount of boost for a safe level being daily driven.

I wasn't saying that's all you needed for management. I was just saying that fuel pump would be a good choice. You would also need something like e-manage if it works on a 95 (not sure) or AEM stand alone. If you want reasonable hp, then you need bigger injectors, like 370s or higher. I prefer higher just to be safe. Do a little bit of searching on the site and you will find EVERYTHING you need for management. Search is very useful. As for safe boost, trust me, 15 psi is safe for a built engine. Happy building.
