a few ?s for a noob

i'm helping my friend turbo his KA24de s13 but he's horrible about actually researching stuff before he goes at it. so far he's got a rebuilt t25 turbo, sr20 wastegate, greddy type s bov, mashimoto (spelling?) intercooler, and the ssauthochrome manifold. i've been looking around on this board for a little bit and have only seen pictures of the turbo mounted on top of the ssautochrome. he's planning on mounting it below. is top mount the only way to go with that mani? also, i've read some about where to tap the oil pan for the lines to and from the turbo. from what i've read, it should be somewhere above the oil level. is that true for both lines? also, is he safe running low boost on the stock fuel system. i've read that 370cc injectors and a 255lhp walbro fuel pump are recommended and of course an safc but he doesn't have plans for these things right now. eventually he will get them but for now he's planning on running stock injectors and fuel pump. he plans on only boosting about 7 psi for the time being. should he retard his timing any to avoid knock? i'm sure running higher octane gas is recommended but if someone could confirm the need for that it would help out. anyway, i know thats a lot of questions but if i don't get the answers quick he's gonna slap it all together and who knows what will happen. thanks in advance.
