Greddy Turbo kit for 96-98 240sx

I'm wondering if Greddy's turbo kit will work on a 95 240sx. I'm not aware of any changes made to the engine from 95-96. Any info would be great.

From my understanding the kit will bolt up to a 95 but the reason its for the 96up is because of the fact that it is OBDII compliant. heres what you gotta do:
-buy the greddy turbo kit and intercooler
-have your ecu tuned by JWT
-sell the greddy ecu that they give you
-boost till you blow your motor
-rebuild motor
-boost higher

thats it, in a nutshell

That sounds about right. Kind of what I was afraid of. I really liked the idea behind the kit since it is a fairly inexpensive entry level turbo kit and is easily upgradeable.

Its not that expensive either. You can get it from www.jspec.com for the kit and intercooler $3500 SHIPPED, or on ebay for Buy It Now with intercooler for $3100, plus shipping. The prices will come down in a few months, Greddy needs to make back their initial investment. Once they do that, their prices will lower. Patience is a virtue.

ya, go pick up the new Turbo magazine. They have a good write up, pictures on the kit w/IC installed, and a nice dyno chart with the stock power, kit power, and kit w/IC power. You should still go pick up the magazine, but here are the numbers anyways.

STOCK - 140hp 151tq
Kit @ 5.7psi - 194.6hp 194.9tq
kit w/IC @ 7.8psi - 219.5hp 250.6tq3

hope that helps~!

I talked yesterday to owner of the local speed shop (they are a Greddy authorized dealer), and he told me the reason it wont work on a 95 is the e-manage is not compatible with the obdI computer. I might go ahead and buy the kit and see if I can swap in an obdII ecu from a 96 (it works on hondas). If anybody knows if this is possible please let me know.

My other option is a custom kit with a k26 turbo and a lot of irritation.

maybe instead of trying to wire in a obdII like all the honda guys do. Maybe you would be better off selling the Greddy Emanage, and getting a JWT ECU. Its easy to find harnesses for Honda's cause everyone and their mom has one. You would have to pya a hefty price tag to get your system to run a obdII comp. w/o throwing codes. This is what I was going to do if I got a '95...but I found a '96 so its all good~!

I guess another option would be to buy another e-manage that is not preprogrammed and take it to a tuning shop with a dyno. I really like like the idea of being able to reprogram the system. My eventual goal of 450 hp will require much larger injectors and engine work. A stand alone unit would work but they are expensive as hell and a jwt is not reprogrammable without sending it off to be reworked.

Thats true. Maybe you could work out some kinda trade type deal with a shop or something. See if they will let you swap out eManages and pay cheap for some dyno/tuning time. Anyways, I hope all works out well for ya. Definitly keep us posted on what you do and how you like it. Thanks~!

I'm probably going to use my apexi safc for fuel programming and an aem uego wideband o2 meter to help tune everything. I'll make sure to do a write up with pictures on how it all works out. I'll gonna ty to do all this some time in may or june (depending on funds at the time).

w/ hondas they usually go to a obdI ecu from the obdII one because u aren't able to chip the obdII ecu.

No I don't think it is, but I'm not 100percent about that.
