Rebuild your engine, get a damn good HG,(head gasket), upgrade the cams, pistons, search KAT and you'll see what most people have done. www.ka24de.com is a good place to start for engine mods. I haven't gone KAT yet so thats about all the help I can be. I can tell you you'll be looking several grand though.

400 at the wheel or crank? you would spend tons money even if you just went to a sr or kat, you wont be able to walk away with powerful enginge only spending like 2g unless you intend for the motor to blow. but its cheaper if you want high horsepower to go with a kat in my opinion through the research ive done. the good thing about the kat is that all the parts are domestic.... meaning parts are easier to get and also meaning it is cheaper. but remember youll need a manifold, downpipe, intercooler, probably a turbo back or cat back exhaust, blow off valve, intake, pistons, gasket, cams, fuel injectors, rods, and probably more just cant think of it off the top of my head. i would have a kat myself but only one thing stopping me money. lol. no matter what man your gonna spend a lot of money.

I have found that the KA-T would be more expencive than the SR but would have a bit more HP.

Ok the KA you would need beffy connecting rods, pistons, HG, Valve springs and retainers, valves...and why go that deep into the rebuild without replaceing teh crank barrings. Then you need a turbo kit, IC, Ic piping. All this I think would be around 3000-5200

500-1000 for the rebuild
2000-3000 for the turbo kit
500-1200 for the IC and piping

Im glad to see you making that decision. Lots of "noobs" come to the forums saying I own a honda and want a 240..then start asking about the swap or turbo that they should get. Before even having the car. I think its wise to own the car for a while get to learn the feel of the car. After you really get to know the car then horsepower up. By that time you will probobly know the route you wanna go with the modding. (KA-t, KA, SR, RB..whatever)

LOL
yeah, gotta learn how to accelerate and brake with RWD, and if you don't have hicas you gotta be careful because I guarantee you'll spin out. Go to an empty parking lot and learn your car better, get a feel for it

Suspension is a very important overlooked aspect, as well as brakes. Going Turbo without upgrading these is asking for trouble.

that is the right thinking. and Hella and the Doc. drive her, learn her, and then build her. u can't go wrong that way. i'm pretty sure i'm at least a good year to a year and a half away from any serious power upgrades. as i usually say, the first upgrade for me will be the driver. then probably suspension and brakes (and an lsd somewhere in there). don't get me wrong, to each his own, but i think there is more to benefit by working ur way up...

Auto X is a great way to learn car control. Drag racing teaches you how to launch your car. Drifting teaches you the absolute limits of adhesion and beyond for the car, and would help you learn where you would lose it. Good luck with the S14.

Must be the same noobs who jump into a FR for a test drive and pull up the E-brake to do a burnout

I agree with your decision Gunline (or third, or whatever # I am). FF and FR's are totally different on the streets. When I got my S14, of course turbo was in my head constantly, but as I started driving my car on a daily basis I began to notice that it felt "different" from my former FF SE-R. But once you get comfortable with an FR, you'll stay with an FR!

Just drive, drive, drive. If you have some $$ take some driving lessons - not the noob "get your license" ones; I'm talking track lessons. Even a 2 day session will do wonders for your knowledge of FR's, plus you get seat time and come out of the weekend more confident.

Don't forget 500 - 2000 for labor and miscellaneous parts.
You'll also need a new exhaust, ignition system, injectors, bla bla bla... like 200 - $1500 of stuff.

You could just get an SR off EBay for like $1500 and be all set.

P.S. Don't listen to guys like me who get like 250hp for $900. They're all stupid and brainwashed.

he could do that but he was asking for turbo setups for the ka. maybe he likes the extra torque or the fact that parts are cheaper and easier to get and dont have to wait a couple weeks of delivery for it to ship from japan. theres also the fact that if he wanted 300-400 hp he would have to get new internals anyways. or he could change his mind and his request of a setup for the ka and only want 230-250hp that you would get from a sr with safe boost. if he wanted 300-400 hp on a sr he would probably have to upgrade the turbo and get new internals anyways and give up torque, not to mention wait forever to get parts shipped from who knows where. but what do i know im a noob just like him

no, your post was pretty damn accurate, for 300-400rwhp you'd need to do a lot, you totally sunk it until you said what do I know i'm a newbie, lol.
