Unhappy Smell of gas when driving

When i am driving with the window closed, i don't smell any gas. However, after i roll down the window, i can smell the gas inside the car. Does any one know is this normal or sometihng has happened to it. I am driving a 91 240sx with SR20det redtop.

yeah i have the same problem too... you are probably just running rich... have someone look out your exhaust and rev the car a good amount in neutral... if there is blacks moke you are running rich... = check for leaks on intercooler pipings...

another thing just to make sure is check your spark plugs and tell us what they look like...

now you said you cant smell it in the inside unless your windows are rolled down so this might ttake out this solution but try it anyway...

check your fuel pump assembly, there should be this O ring make sure that is fitting nice and perfectly and not leaking...

but i think you are just running rich and just check out all pipings...

another possibility is that some of the hosing isn't clamped down tight enough right now, allowing a small leak to occur. check all the rubber hosing associated with your fuel system and make sure all the clamps are tightened. i was smelling gas the other day and it turns out that i was leaking a bit on part of my fuel return line cause the clamps weren't screwed down tight enough
